The same grill, wide enough for the lunch rush. 425mm of plate takes two paninis side by side comfortably, or three at a squeeze - which is the difference between a queue that moves and one that does not between twelve and two.

Ribbed on top for char lines, flat underneath for even browning, with 2.2kW behind it so the plates recover between batches.

Key features

  • 425mm plate width - two paninis side by side, so throughout roughly doubles at peak
  • Ribbed top, flat base - char lines on show, even browning underneath
  • 2.2kW element - recovers temperature between batches instead of dropping off as the rush builds
  • 425 x 400 x 210mm (W x D x H) - still a countertop unit, just a wider one
  • Floating hinged top plate - self-levels over thick and thin fillings so pressure stays even
  • Thermostat control - set once for your product and leave it through service
  • Stainless steel body with drip tray - quick to wipe down at end of service

Choosing your grill

This range runs the 305mm EG-811A, the 425mm EG-811EA and the 580mm fully grooved EG-813. Ribbed top with a flat base is the best all-round sandwich configuration. On width, the honest test is your lunch hour: if you are ever grilling in sequence rather than in parallel, the extra 120mm here pays for itself in served covers. Fully grooved (EG-813) is the choice if you grill more meat and vegetables than bread.

Good to know

Wipe the plates down while they are still warm, with a scraper and a damp cloth rather than an abrasive - the non-stick coating on grill plates is the part that wears first. Empty the drip tray daily. Allow the grill to come fully up to temperature before the first order; a cold plate will not mark the bread.
